Lord Agni- the Fire God

Lord Agni- the Fire god, giver of good things and a relentless opponent of darkness and evil.
Agni, the Vedic God of Fire

Agni (fire) is one of the three supreme deities of Rig Veda, namely Agni, Vayu and Surya. These three gods preside over earth, air and sky respectively.

Agni is the Son of Angiras and the grandson of Sandili, one of the seven great sages. His wife is Svaha and through this marriage he begot three Sons- Pavaka, Pavamana and Suchi.

Lord Agni is one of the supreme Gods in Rig Veda.
Agni is the personification of the three forms of fire, namely, the Sun, the lightning and the sacrificial fire. He is considered to be the source of Vedas, possessing and knowing all created things, the mediator between men and gods, the protector of man and their homes.

Agni is invoked on Shani Puja

Lord Agni helps humans being make offerings to other gods through his light.
Agni is invoked on every occasion as a witness to that particular action. During the crematory rites he is considered to be assuming a hideous form and is called Kravyad, ‘flesh eating’; a rakshasa or ogre, since he consumed the flesh of men.
